Just want to find out is there anyway to detect sender phone no via the http header send by the sender (or uplink server)

Yes, and no. It depends on the wap-gw. It is usually the wap-gw who translates the IP-address of the sender to an MSISDN and can forward it in an HTTP header to the MMSC. But it will only do that for the operator's own MMSC and not to "freaky" MMSC:s like Peffisaur and similar hacks. They usually have "trusted zones" and the Internet seldom belong to a trusted zone.
So if you are doing a hack for an operator and has its cooperation then yes you can. Otherwise the only chance you have of obtaining the MSISDN is to..well...guess?
Or you can of course have some sort of provisioning system so that your users have to provide you with their MSISDN when they sign up for your MMSC. Then you need to authenticate them somehow else, like giving them all a unique URL and then lookup their MSISDN. |
